My Dilemma

I declared myself an Independent Conservative January 02, 2007 and published what I meant by that on my old Blog.  However the Contract with Conservatives is more defined and I just sent a copy of it to the McCain campaign, when they asked for the party to unite and of course for some money. What has happened on the campaign trail since 01/02/2007 is the cause of my dilemma.

I said in 2007, if the people running for the highest office in the world are all we had, we were in deep trouble.  Fellow Americans, the field has narrowed and the four left in the race are trouble for each and every American. (As of today only three are viable because Huckabee needs 176 more delegates than what are available.)

I voted for Mitt Romney in the South Carolina Republican Primary with many reservations but I thought he would apply his business knowledge, experience and his ability to lead and bring Washington together, finally getting the peoples work done.

To my dismay, the South Carolina Primary was a showing of Christian vs. Mormon, Black vs. White and Mitt came in almost last. What really astonished me the most was the corruption of the Black and White Born-Again Christians voting for a pro-abortion Black candidate, Barrack Obama, who was spawned from a Black radical church with a Black radical Islamic and Anti-Semitic Minster.

I am not against “Blackness”.  I am against Senator’s Obama’s very liberal agenda.  I listened to most of his speeches, campaign and victory, and in my opinion they were reminiscent of TV Preachers whipping up their disciples to send them money for another car, but in this case, in addition to the money, he was making them forget they were Born-Again and had accepted Christ into their lives. They totally forget who they were listening to fiery talk of Obama telling them what they wanted to hear with no substance behind it.  They didn’t really want to hear the “devil in the detail”.

Again South Carolinians put their race and religion in play and we wonder why our State is “first in everything we should be last in and last in everything we should be first in”.

Hillary, in South Carolina, appealed to the poor Black and White voters, most were looking out for their “Government Checks”, food stamps and wanting more from her by taking the money away from the hard working middle and upper classes so the they can have their “Flat Screen TV and a second car”.  They can’t figure out that having two or three kids from different Fathers by the time they should be graduating High School or that 60 % of them are quitting school, most can’t read or write or even speak good English, could be the reasons why they can’t get jobs. The cycle continues. Hillary knows she will not get elected President by pandering to the poor and she also will tell them what they want to hear today and abandon them as soon as their vote is cast. The poor have no money to give for her campaign and she knows it. It now may be too late

My real problem is with the Republican front runner, Senator John McCain since the Democrats have no conservatives in the race.  Senator McCain is one of the Senate’s Neanderthals who are causing the demise on the conservative movement within the Republican Party. He has proposed and supported a lot of liberal bills and some that are actually against the U.S. Constitution (McCain-Feingold) and the attempt to ram through the famous Bush, Kennedy, and McCain instant Amnesty Immigration bill. There are more but I don’t want to waste the time looking them up.

Now that there is no chance of Huckabee being the nominee I have to make a decision between a half conservative and a, full fledge radical left wing Socialist, open border, lose the war, big brother government supporting, Democrat. (Hillary or Obama) Hillary thinks that she can send Billy Bob out to solve our problems abroad and Obama who thinks the War on Terror is nothing more than a slogan used by President Bush to promote fear.

In my opinion our National security is the most important issue we face, although Senator McCain is weak on the border part of that, he is very strong on the War on Terror.  I heard him say at one of his speeches that he now “gets it, we must secure our border first” so I will keep him stacked up with letters, E-Mails until he has it all right.  I think he indorses our free market economy with policies for growth and also, hopefully, apply that to all entitlement programs instead of the big Government solutions. I think he knows we need fixes to Social Security, tax reform, selection of Judges who understand and adhere to our Constitution, and a better way of educating our kids and grandkids.

So again, with reservations and the fact that either one of the Social Democrats have any idea what their doing, I will cast my vote for Senator John McCain and hold my breath. I think. Maybe.

PS.   Dilemma is defined as a situation with unsatisfactory choices.

The Clinton's Strategy and Tactics

I have recently have been thinking about the tactics that will be used in the race for the Democrat Presidential Nomination.  I think Race will play a subliminal in some cases and or overriding in each of the States primaries depending on the population of Blacks versus other Races.

Bill Clinton, who is playing a major part in wife’s Hillary’s campaign, was named “the first Black President”, now is trumpeting, for what could be the first woman President and is blasting Obama with some really harsh language.  The Blacks are getting real pissed off at his Obama bashing, so much so, that the polls are now showing Obama ahead 43% to 29%. Of course we believe the polls.

Everybody thinks Bill Clinton has to do what he’s doing for is wife (Hillary) so she can win the South Carolina Primary in order to keep the Clinton Dynasty alive.  In reality however, this it not true.  He could promote her 35 years experience watching Hubby Bill’s antics at the Governor’s Mansion in Arkansas and the White House.  He could claim her experience working for the poor, her healthcare program, or her foreign policy experience while traveling around the World with him.

Bill Clinton, don’t forget, is the one doing the bashing, not Hillary, leaving her to do the “clean promoting work.”  The strategy is, eventually to portray Obama as the candidate representing a single Race, Blacks, and that he can not get elected in a national run off.  The Clintons will use this as a tactical weapon against Obama.  Obama, for his part, will fined it very hard to repute this allegation because he has used this as his “most potent weapon” in winning the Black vote in S.C., and in doing so, the Black voters would take this as their being used to win S.C. They would be right.

The Clintons on the other hand will fine tune this premise and keep bashing Obama as he Black Candidate for the Blacks and will push that negative hard and deep enough that the only thing Obama can do is to spend the majority of his time on the defensive and battle this perception.  The Clintons will continue the deployment of their Strategy and present themselves (Hillary) as a constructive alternative. Of course they portray her as the President that will represent the entire spectrum of the masses, Black, White, Yellow, Red and Brown, Male and Female, Gay and Straight.

The real action will be in the Obama’s Camp trying to react as the Clinton’s goading and guiding of their candidate as Black becomes a major part of Hillary’s strength against Obama.

To sum up what the Strategy will be:

Pick the target—Obama only represents the Black population.

Isolate—make it the most prominent issue.

Personalize---Because he is Black he concentrates on winning     the Black vote.  The results in S.C. will prove it.

Polarize--- The Clinton’s will use this issue by making it sound like if he gets elected his primary focus will have to be on pandering to the Blacks.

Hillary will focus her campaign by using this Black on Black thing while explaining how she is the one representing the masses.  If Obama makes a move one way or the other they will pinpoint their attacks depending on Obama’s moves, but always at the same target.

MARK MY WORDS if Obama wins South Carolina the attack tactics will start and the Clinton strategy will be obtained.

As I finished this Blog post, Obama was projected to win taking 81% of the S.C. Black vote.  So hang on, the Clinton Machine will be in high gear.

I don’t think Bill and Hillary came up with this strategy by themselves.  Do you?

The Pending Draft

I wrote this piece back in September 2007 and posted it on another Blog site.  I think the requitement numbers are very low now and I believe the government is starting to think about a draft.

There is no doubt in my mind why there would be any reason for any person, voluntarily, envisioning a career in the armed services of the United States, would start it now. With the consistent barrage of indignations thrown at our soldiers by the Democrats in Congress, who in their right mind would enlist or reenlist with the chance of having a Democrat elected President Commander-in Chief holding a majority in both houses of Congress?

To add insult to injury the Democrat front organization MoveOn.Org put out a hit piece on our top Iraq ranking General David Petraeus with a full page advertisement, in the Democrat reporting arm, the New York Times. They renamed him “General Be Tray Us”.  Only one Democrat denounced the advertisement. The others won’t dare because of the threat of loosing campaign money from MoveOn.Org.  Why don’t we just give a new name to the Democrats?  MoveOnDemocrates.Org.

The Coup de grace was when Democrat Presidential front runner Hillary Clinton essentially called General Petraeus a liar by saying that his report, “required the willing suspension of disbelief”, and also by virtue of her silence about MoveOn.org supports their advertisement.

You may remember back in June 2007 when President Bush’s newly named “War Czar”, General Lute, shot off a flare saying, “the possibility a military draft was a viable option and should not be taken off the table”. I think the President, looking at his last sixteen months in office with the Democrats inflicting more than enough anti-military indignations that he would not have enough enlisted personnel to use in the rotation of the troops in the field.  Voluntary enlistments are already at an all time low so I guess he may be right.  I believe the Republicans would try to stop him from doing that because it would most certainly kill their election chances in 2008.  Again, don’t forget its all about getting reelected.  I believe that the President will definitely take the heat and do what ever it takes to win.

I look at the draft another way.  We are seeing the lower and middle class kids volunteering for the service and they are doing a tremendous job. Why should they be the only ones doing the fighting and protecting the rights of the elite rich little boys and girls going to the elite schools or working for Daddy or Mommy getting a paycheck and doing nothing but partying?  We see these kids, in the news all the time, drinking themselves into a state of oblivion or smoking pot, some not knowing where they are. If they want that type of lifestyle they should be out there fighting for it.

The reasons our current volunteers are fighting are three fold, for love of country, for citizenship and for the education the armed services provide, that their love ones can’t afford.  These are much the same reasons why the elite won’t volunteer.  Mommy doesn’t want little Johnny or Suzie to get hurt, valid for Mothers, but mothers in the Radical Islam movement are strapping suicide belts on their kids for their cause.  Our kids, for the most part, have no love of country, in most cases are taught no history, do not say, or even know, the pledge of allegiance and get a negative view of serving in the armed forces mostly from their parents and teachers.  Even after collage their parents will not look favorably on them going in service because they just spent tens of thousands of dollars and the want to see something come from their investment.

A good book to read on this subject is titled “AWOL the unexcused absence of America’s upper class from military service”.  The book is by two writers who are from military families, Kathy Roth–Douquet and Frank Schaeffer. They argue that the American armed forces should draw from all segments of society in order to understand what is required when making real life or death decisions, serving in civilian life. They believe, as I, that we should return to a lottery type draft.

I know this can be hell waiting for your number to be called, my number never was. I even went to volunteer for the draft so I could pick the branch I wanted to serve.  They told me they had a waiting list so I waited a year longer and then got married. I always felt that I missed something special in my life.

Rep. Charlie Rangel (D-NY) has a different view of why a draft should be enacted.  He says the people (legislators) making the decisions about war would think twice about sending their own kids or grandkids off to war. Sort of proves the above point doesn’t it?

We must maintain a large ever ready armed force in order to keep this country safe.  Not to have a representation from all walks of American life is not fair. There are so many jobs in the service today with many venues for learning that when you come out you and your skills will be in demand or give you a jump on and money for collage.  Right now the Democrats are not helping matters.

Evangelism Born Again Christians

After the South Carolina Republican primary I started wondering who the heck are these people who call themselves, Evangelicals?  I guess it has something to do with Born-Again Christians.  What does Born-Again mean?  I heard these terms first used when the current President Bush was running in 2004 and then after during 2008 Iowa Primary, when Mike Huckabee won, but just let it pass as meaning Christians.

I have been a Christian all my life.  I guess am an Independent Christian which means I am not affiliated with any organized religion or group such as Catholics, Baptist, or Methodist. The Bible is my Priest, Pastor and Reverend and even though I don’t know chapter and verse, I know I believe in God, Jesus the son of God, and I believe that he died on the cross and ascended into heaven and return to us here on earth to assure us that our sins will be forgiven and we will experience life everlasting.

Because I am a Christian should I let that interfere with, who I cast my vote for in the Presidential election? YES, as sure as I am living on God’s created Earth, I am also as sure that my God created the evolution of human life and that only by God’s hand, is allowed too terminated a life.  I also know that God’s protection of us begins at the time of conception and does not end, ever, even after death.  To me, this means that God’s created and protected life should not be interrupted by the hand of Man or Woman.

This is where I have a problem understanding of the terms Evangelicals or Born-Again Christians.  Gov. Huckabee who claims to be an Evangelical and he is Pro-Life.  Gov. Romney is a Mormon who believes in Christ and is Pro-Life, at least now.  Sen. McCain is a Christian and is Pro Life.  Fred Thomson is a Christian and Pro Life. The Republican Party has many choices that the Evangelicals, Born-Again Christians can cast their vote for, so why would Evangelical, Born-Again Christians vote for Sen. Obama or Sen. Clinton or even Mayor Rudy. It is my understanding that the Democrat black voters are casting the vote for Obama who is Pro-Death, or choice. I also am of the impression the majority of them are Evangelicals Born-Again Christians, which I think means they finally believe in Christ and offered up their life to him.

There are also a lot of white voters who are Evangelicals Born-Again Christians who are voting for Hillary. This has me really confused because Hillary is one of the most Pro-Death and also one of the largest supporters of the process of partial-birth abortion, which is the most disgusting form of the termination of life.

I must have this whole thing wrong so into the Dictionary I went looking:  Evangelism is defined as the winning or revival of personal commitment to Jesus Christ.  Born-Again is defined as having experienced the revival of a personal Faith or conviction.

So these people go to some Church for some period of time.  They ask Christ to take control of their life and in turn they will worship him unconditionally, something I have been doing all my life. When election time comes, these same people vote for Candidates, who have a committed belief (pro-abortion), which is in direct conflict with Evangelism and the teachings of Christ.   I bet on the following Sunday they go back to their Church, which most likely told them that it was OK to vote for Obama or Hillary because they are black or a woman get down on their knees or look up towards the heavens with hands an arms swaying praising Jesus.

If I were Christ I would ask for all the certificates back and revoke their Born-Again status.

If you proclaim that you are Born-Again Christians and you step into that voting booth and punch in a vote for any candidate who is against sanctify of life, I hope you feel the flames of Hell licking your butt and come away with a sticker with hypocrite stamped on it and while you are at it, bring one back for your Pastor, Priest, or Minister as well.

Slecting The Next President

I believe our foreign policy will be shaped after the election, when the new administration knows what is exactly going on. It’s always better when you sit in your armchair and think of all the ways each of the issues should have been prosecuted and talk about how it could have been done differently when you have a frame of reference.

It’s much different if they are your shoes that you are in when things blow up and you have to make the assessments and follow through with the plans of action, and then execute them.  All the Bush bashers, especially the leading tier candidates on both sides, one of which will be at the control panel when the “dodo” hits fan, should be very careful what they say now, because shortly one of them will have to react.

This is why we need a leader who couldn't’t give a damn about his or her political future or what party they belong too, or if their actions will help or hinder their party chances of maintaining or getting control of the Congress.

The true leader will unite the sexes, races, liberals, conservatives, the rich and the poor without the help of the big lobbing groups, Dotcoms, or the media.  The people running today should not accept anything from any of these sources, if they do nothing more will get done, or if it does it mostly likely will be wrong, when the next President gets elected and he or she will be putting nation more at risk.

The priorities for the next President should be:

1.      Get control of our immigration problems by securing the border first and strict  enforcement   of, at lease, our current hiring laws.

2.      Keep our economy robust.

3.      Tax reform to stimulate the economy.

4.      Build an armed force of at least a million ready personnel and develop advance defensive and offensive technology to secure our future.

5.      Maintain the pressure on the radical Islamic war on terror.

6.      Develop a health care system that is market driven and out of the control of the federal government.

7.      Start separating Social Security away from the government and put it in the hands of the people.

8.      Put in place a total government funded medical, disability, and Social Security system for the military, veterans with family assistance.

Candidates Will You Listen

To the Presidential Candidates:

Mitt Romney, Sen. Clinton, Sen. McCain, Senator Obama, Rudy Giuliani, Mike Huckabee, Rep. Paul, John Edwards, Fred Thompson:

With the exception of Fred Thompson’s statement at the SC debate last night, I have a problem with all of your statements on Immigration.  To say the least they are very convoluted and in my opinion plain reckless.

We are a nation of laws-not lawlessness. We are a nation of order-not chaos. I implore you to use your platform to call for real border security and no amnesty for the illegal aliens who are threatening our nation with their unlawful invasion.

Americans aren’t fooled by the amnesty double-speak. Americans want strict border security and no amnesty. It would be a wise candidate that used his/her platform to embrace real border security.

I simply cannot support, nor will I tolerate any candidate who refuses to listen to the voice of the people. True border security-without an amnesty is the only option, and I urge you to publicly champion such a measure.

There is no reason to invent another Immigration Bill which will lead to more Earmark spending.

Congressman Heath Shuler (D-NC) introduced the Secure America with Verification and Enforcement Act, HR 4088(SAVE) which by my last count had 112 co-signers of which 67 of them are Republicans. This proposed Act is exactly what the American people were calling for when we sent hundreds of thousands of messages to Congress when the House and Senate tried to jam the Bush, McCain, Kennedy 3,000 page bill down our throats.

If all of you endorse the SAVE ACT by saying it publicly in your many speeches, between now and the elections, then the Congress will have to react.

Obama Hits It

Obama hit it, somewhat anyway

Obama has the problem, in Washington, defined perfectly as he gave his victory speech after wining the Democrat Iowa Caucus.  Somebody finally brought to the forefront all that is wrong in our Government and why it is not functioning. During his campaign he emphasized the need for change and the Iowan’s eat it up.

The other Candidates were left standing with their eyes glazed over especially when he said that Washington is red and blue when it should be purple (implied).  He said that the Political Parties are being run by the big money corporate lobbyist and other big money groups.  He basically wants to see a shift from a forty year stagnated “paradigm”.

Lets face it it’s not the country that’s bad it’s the way the Government is running it.  The other Candidates, of both parties, then started redefining their Campaigns and the word “change” is now in every one of the speeches.

Listening to the speeches and the Fox News Forums, in New Hampshire, it was evident that the others were still confused as to what he meant and Obama himself I think is now confused and started to take on of the interoperations of some of the others.

I know that Obama meant at the time of his speech was that he wants to bring the Government back together and get the peoples work done.  It was unfortunate by the end of the speech he wanted the change to be Socialism through massive taxation on corporations, and in fact the other Democrats picked up on this and started openly saying how they were going to tax the people and their profits to fund their proposed entitlements. During his Campaign he said he would let the Bush tax cuts expire.  I know New Hampshire is not a tax loving state which surprises me that he is doing so well in the polls there. As it turned out all the polls were wrong. They had him a 10 point winner, he came in second 3 points less than Hillary.

Obama said “I'll be a President who finally makes health care affordable and available to every single American the same way I expanded health care in Illinois – by bringing Democrats and Republicans together to get the job done” He said, “I'll be a President who ends the tax breaks for companies that ship our jobs overseas and put a middle-class tax cut into the pockets of the working Americans who deserve it”.

Obama really only contrasted his Healthcare proposal, with the other Democrats, with his having a lot more non-government choices than the others.  I think he knew what was going to happen. The other Democrats were going to play “my dog is bigger than yours”. Well, when Hillary and Edwards redefined their speeches, in New Hampshire, and tried selling their vision of change, which were more Socialistic than Obama’s. They want everybody to be covered by the Government the same way the Congress is. That went over like a turd in a punch bowl and Hillary and Edward’s poll numbers went down 10 and 20 points respectively. It was a beautiful thing to watch, but the polls were wrong.

On the Republican side, Huckabee came across like he knew what the polls were trying to figure out.  Huckabee was talking to the choir in Iowa, and he did it well, because he was one of them. Mitt Romney just thought he new what the Iowa voters wanted to hear which was similar to Obama. But he was speaking to a State full of Baptist Christian voters who still think the same things about the Mormons that their Great Grandfathers thought  After Huckabee’s win in Iowa I think his campaign should have taken on a different dimension.  Huckabee’s win in Iowa was an anomaly that the Born-Again Christians just couldn’t pass up. That proved to be true in NH where he was speaking like all the voters were Born-Again, but only a small portion of them were. The pollsters knew what Huckabee didn’t and he took home the Bronze.

McCain was competitive in 2000 in NH and decided not to pay to much attention to Iowa.  He knew how to talk to the NH voters even when all the polls had him getting creamed by about 7 percentage points by Romney, who came in second in Iowa. I think Mitt thought he had NH all to himself, but the polls were wrong.  McCain won by 3 percentage points and Mitt took the Silver again.

Now that the pollsters can’t be trusted I wonder how the news media is going to react here in South Carolina (SC).   I also want to see how the Candidates are going to play for us with no polls to trust. SC has a more diverse population now that they did in 2000.  We have a lot more retirees from the North, an influx of young people who live here now, working and attending our many collages, a large population of black and white bible toting Christians, a large population of retired and active Military, and not many large corporations.  I think Wallmart is our largest employer, and Hillary wants a piece of their profits.

I believe the four top Candidates will be the same as the final out come in NH, but I think the Democrat front runners will be reversed.  On the Republican side I think Romney will be third with McCain coming in first and Huckabee second. I also think Edwards, Rudy, and Fred will not be a factor here, could be wrong, but this should be very interesting.

Congressional Suveys

I have been receiving a lot of requests to complete political surveys as I am sure you all are.  I know it's just a way to make you think you are participating in the political process but it's really just for the money.  I decided with the last one I was going send a letter along with my answers, with no money.

Congressman Tom Cole:

I appreciate the opportunity of responding to the Congressional Survey.  However, I think the questions are not the ones you should be asking the voters.  You should have known by now why the Republican’s lost the majority two years ago.  If not let me remind you.  4 years ago we expanded the majority in both houses. And the only thing you did was spend, spend, and spend.  You’re EARMARK levels were only exceeded by this years spending.  You lost because of the spending and the corruption within the party.

Now to the questions:

1.      Did the Republican Party spend too much money on things that weren’t needed to run the County?

2.      Do you think Henry Brown should fight to make all EARMARK approbations visible to the voters, especially his?

3.      Do you think the rest of the S.C. House delegation should make their EARMARK approbations visible to the S.C. voters?

4.      Are you satisfied with the way the Republican did their job when they had the Majority?

5.      Do you think the House Republicans promoted the correct Immigration Bill?

6.      Do you think that all the House Republicans should sign on and cosponsor the SAVE immigration act?

7.      Do you think the House Republicans should support the Fair Tax Bill? Or at least show us what their plan is.

8.      Do you think the House Republicans should send out their plan for comprehensive education and healthcare reform to the voters?

9.      Do you think the House Republicans should receive any money from the voters based on job they did when they had the Majority?

10.  Do you think the House Republicans should send the voters their voting and approbation spending records and ask the question on how well they did on each one?

There are plenty of other questions you should have asked us but let’s face it this is for the money.  I think you guys should get serious about serving the voters putting the party before the people has gone far enough.  I think you will lose more seats in the next election if you aren’t touch with the people. You should be showing us what you did, how you voted and how much you spent.

                                                                        Thanks again,

Secure Fence Act A Hoax

To Senators, DeMint and Graham, and Rep. Brown.

Oh where oh where did the money go for the Secure Fence Act???  You guys did NOT fund the Secure Fence Act last year and instead gave DHS discretion over when, where and if to build a border fence. This is outrageous.

Now you’re doing the same thing with the HDS Appropriations Bill now being considered. Senator’s Hutchison proposed amendment will again give the DHS a free pass to ignore it again.  You Guys have got to stop playing your little HOAX games, and get the hell down to business and secure our borders.  It’s no wonder we can’t trust this Congress.

I want to see the 854 miles of double-layer border fencing fully funded in this year’s Department of Homeland Security Appropriations Bill.

The DHS Appropriations bill must include a provision or amendment that specifically ties border security/fence funding to the provisions of the Secure Fence Act.  DHS should be required by law to use border security funds to build the double-layer fence instead of one that allows the Congress to ignore the problem.

It is amazing how you don’t want to spend money on securing our borders but you have no trouble putting together “omnibus” that forces the President to sign in order to get the troops the funding they need to prosecute the war on terror.

I think you guys ought to say what you mean and mean what you say because this could be the end of the Republican Party as we know it.  I already think we are in a hole deep enough that it will take us another 40 years to get out of.

According to MoveOn.Org they will be applying pressure on all of the Democrat Presidential Candidates by signing a statement to pass this “Omnibus Bill” with a pull-out date for next year. I read this bill and it is the worst slippery slope of PORK I have ever seen and you Republicans are enjoying the ride down to the bottom.

I voted against this mess on WashingtonWatch.com, you should check out the results.

Iran Nuclear Program

Iran’s Nuclear Program

Today I was pleased to hear that Iran suspended their pursuit of nuclear weapons program and I was about to say this was a good move toward peace.  Then something hit like the nuclear bomb that was exploded by North Korea during the time they were supposed to be in nuclear weapons suspension 2003.  We are being taken again by a rouge regime and the press and the Democrats are falling for it.

A few events happened in the year 2003.  I know it’s a long time for us Americans because we have a short memory span when it comes to something that takes the attention away from ourselves.  We attacked Iraq in 2003 and all the plans that Iran and Syria had to invade Israel with WMDs at the same time the US moved on Baghdad had gone up in smoke with the “Shock and Awe” approach the Americans Forces employed.

Iran shut down their nuclear weapons facilities because they were exposed to the world and especially to the U.S. and Israel.  In my opinion, they had no intention of shutting down the desire to make nuclear weapons.  They moved their program to new underground digs and started purchasing a full complement materials and supplies and even boasted to the world that they have 30 working centrifuges for nuclear enrichment. To my knowledge the IAEA did not inspect any of those facilities.  But the real question is why do they need nuclear energy when they are sitting on top of one of the world’s largest puddle of OIL?  The answer is they don’t, they want it for weapons"

In 2003 there was a county named Libya who also had a nuclear weapons program in full swing, and very close to having a bomb, just after the Iraq attack and thought it better to stop their program.  They dismantled their facilities and disposed of the nuclear material all under international supervision.

Personally I find the NIE report very suspect because wasn’t just two years ago the same organization issued a report, which concluded "with high confidence" that Iran "currently is determined to develop nuclear weapons."

The SAVE Act

This letter was E-Mailed to the Senator on 12.04.2007

To Senator Lindsey Graham:

Thank you for your letter in response to my E- mail dated November 6, 2007 about the solution to illegal immigration.

If you allow me I would like to make some comments as to why I think the Secure America with Verification and Enforcement Act, HR4088 (SAVE) is a better way to get a nonpartisan immigration bill passed that is enforceable and is what the American people want.

This bill makes more sense than all of the others because it make use of laws that have been on the books but through lack of Congressional oversight have not been enforced, such as (a) Border Patrol Agents- Section 5202 of the Intelligence Reform and Terrorism Prevention Act of 2004 (Public Law 108-458; 118 Stat. 3734).

Title 1 of SAVE (HR-4088) repeats exactly what the voters wanted in the many communications the Congress received during the attempt to pass S-1639.  The enforcement of Title 2 subtitle “A” the “Unauthorized Aliens” will start migrating back to where they came from on their own.  “NO SUPPLY NO DEMAND”. They just might trot off to Canada where they will be welcome with open arms, at least until their system implodes, like ours is starting too. By the way we are seeing this happen in our area now with the new housing slump that is taking place.  We should take advantage of this “Happening” and get our border security in place.

Congressman Heath Shuler (D-NC) introduced SAVE,(HR-4088) on the same day your letter was written, with 112 co-signers of which 67 of them are Republicans.  The House Minority Whip Roy Blunt (R-Missouri) has refused to sign still thinks Amnesty is what the American people want.  He is totally out of touch with the voters as are the majority of the House and Senate, which I find amusing because of the out cry, of the voters, against the Kennedy-Bush bill which you supported. He has been in Congress to long, was not able to bring an immigration bill to the floor when he was in charge, and thinks the only good bill is one that the Republicans bring forth.

The American people are tired of this crap and will relentlessly pursue finalization of this issue by means of flooding the incoming communication lines or bring to end the terms of officials who don’t understand what we want at upcoming elections.

The people vote on these bills on “WashingtonWatch.com” and if you want to see how we voted go there and take a look.  Too SAVE you some time the vote for HR-4028 is 80% for and 20% against as opposed to the vote for the Comprehensive Immigration  Reform Act of 2007 31% for and 69% against.  There is no need to go any further, Please get on board with SAVE and be a sponsor for the Senate.

While I’m on the subject of “Illegal Aliens” I am in support of temporary workers, except for the illegal part.  We should extend the H-2B to 6 months, and be made permanent, which would cover the tourist business in our area as well other tourist locations. I wrote an opinion on this in the Myrtle “The Sun News” on August 1, 2007.

As far as the AgJOBS act is concerned I am totally against the proposed S.237. Providing a “Blue Card”, allowing the travel through out the country and the ability to apply for legal residency, is just another “Amnesty” program.  Frozen wages over periods of time and tying them to the CPI of two years prior is just plain wrong, but it may send them back to from where ever they came.

In either case these two problems should be dealt with separately and not be a part of a massive reform bill.

Again thanks for putting up with me on this. I know you have a lot on your plate, but that’s why you get the ‘Big Bucks”, I would not want the job.

Obama On Foreign Policy

Obama on Foreign Policy

Obama starts his Essay on Foreign Policy, in the July/August issue of “Foreign Affairs”, the same way John Edwards and to some extent Hillary Clinton did.  They all seem to be stuck in the past and opines about what was done like it is, in some way valid and should be done that way in today’s world climate.  Don’t get me wrong there are some lessons to be learned form these past greats, but very little of what was done in the World Wars, Korea, Viet Nam can be applied in today’s terrorists world and diplomatic environment.

It is also ironic that they mention the Presidents that they were barely old enough to remember, rather than site the accomplishments of the more recent ones of their Party that they would have been old enough to remember.  They never mention Ronald Reagan who changed the post World War II direction of the world and had more lessons to be learned which could be applied in today’s world environment.

I will however, give Obama a lot more credit for at least describing and understanding today’s world climate better than Edwards, or Clinton.  After telling us all about his past heroes he said the defining statement, of course they have to throw in the “warming planet” thing to place some of the blame on the current administration.

“Today, we are again called to provide visionary leadership. This century's threats are at least as dangerous as and in some ways more complex than those we have confronted in the past. They come from weapons that can kill on a mass scale and from global terrorists who respond to alienation or perceived injustice with murderous nihilism. They come from rogue states allied to terrorists and from rising powers that could challenge both America cannot control their territory or provide for their people. And they come from a warming planet that will spur new diseases, spawn more devastating natural disasters, and catalyze deadly conflicts.”

The Democrats are the best second string quarter backs, its like to they must have a Caucus in their party headed by the MoveOn.org talking points that continually look at reruns and tell us how this should have been done but not how they would have done if they were in the same shoes at the same time President Bush was. It sounds like John Kerry thinking all over again. Barrack now gives his words of, that of an arm chair quarterback, wisdom:

“Bush administration responded to the unconventional attacks of 9/11 with conventional thinking of the past, largely viewing problems as state-based and principally amenable to military solutions”.

Again he would make a better second string quarter back. He must have been a consultant for Bill Clinton because that is just what he did.  Bill Clinton is the one who pictured the attacks, on his watch, as state based as well as police actions.  President Bush new he faced a World War on Terror and he also new he had to contain any future action within the Middle East.  Obama was the one the denounced the war on terror and called it a bumper sticker slogan.

Obama says, “this was a tragically misguided view that led us into a war in Iraq”, “that never should have been authorized and never should have been waged.”

I thought the 9/11 response was in Afghanistan and Iraq came later, and by the majority of the experts now say that Iraq was the right thing to do now that we know  the Intelligence was  accurate.

He goes on to say: “in the wake of Iraq and Abu Ghraib, the world has lost trust in our purposes and our principles”.

He really means the world through the eyes of the Democrat leadership who wants us to surrender, the world has lost trust.

Another Clinton euphuism, let’s check the poles first, then the UN, then Europe, then Russia.

Now, he does not mention the number of meetings and proposed UN resolutions that were stoned walled by the China, France or Germany because their interests in the area or the number of resolutions and time given to Iraq before any thing was done or the complete disregard of UN support after we secured Afghanistan enough for the UN to take control. We had to get NATO to support and take over the security of a country not even in their realm.

This is where Barrack should have taken Clinton’s way of handling the crisis which he totally new was coming.  He could have stopped 9/11 years prior, if it wasn’t for his other priorities. He could have put bin Laden down when he had him in his sights but because of cowardice he thought it was in his best interest to leave it for the next President.

He gives credit to Roosevelt for “building the most formidable military the world had ever seen”, but doesn’t mention Clinton’s raping of the military’s manpower, limiting development of advance defense systems or not maintaining a ready well manned and equipped, armed forces for situations such as 9/11 again which he new could come at any minute that he now blames Bush.  Now we know why the Democrats do not mention Clinton as one of their greatest.  I would not be fair if I didn’t mention the Clintonian method of placating the Nuclear Korean crisis, or Jimmy Carter’s handling of the little conflicts, hostages and the worst economy we saw in, at least my lifetime, during his administration.

Obama is really not coherent in is statements which does shows he knows nothing about how he is going to defend America or respond in a crisis the size of 9/11.

He goes on to talk about the thousands of lives lost and the billions of dollars spent and says we should retrieve fundamental insights of Roosevelt, Truman and Kennedy:

“Such leadership demands that we retrieve a fundamental insight of Roosevelt, Truman, and Kennedy -- one that is truer now than ever before: the security and well-being of each and every American depend on the security and well-being of those who live beyond our borders. The mission of the United States is to provide global leadership grounded in the understanding that the world shares a common security and a common humanity”.

He’s off again on trying resolve current events and the problems of the world with the insights of a generation he was barley old enough to remember. If he and the Clinton administration had done just one thing to build America’s defense and intelligence that those greats did, he had mentioned, we wouldn’t be in the mess we’re in now.  I wonder why he doesn’t mention Ronald Reagan, who built a force to be reckoned with and new we couldn’t sit on our duffs while the world was plotting to attack us.

“Our servicemen and servicewomen have performed admirably while sacrificing immeasurably. “But” it is time for our civilian leaders to acknowledge a painful truth: we cannot impose a military solution on a civil war between Sunni and Shiite factions. The best chance we have to leave Iraq a better place is to pressure these warring parties to find a lasting political solution.

The “but” factor”

Obama’s view of the war on terror is that we are fighting a civil war in Iraq.  We are fighting a religious war of the same religion with many different sects. It’s like if the Methodist, Baptist, Protestants, and the Catholics, all part of Christianity, were fighting amongst to see who is top dog of the Christian faith. Context is everything when it comes to foreign policy and Obama is way out of it.  Everything he talks about is first premised by the phasing out the troops.  It’s like this is a new thing and he should take credit for it.  In fact President Bush’s plans from the beginning was when Iraq is stabilized troops would start to come out.  With the new SURGE strategy, which is now working very well, we will be able to leave Iraq, in fact some already have with some level confidence the Iraqi Government will have some breathing room to get their issues settled but no date should be stated.

Obama comes up with the one and only way to end the involvement, which again is not his own, and wants done before the end of President Bush’s term.  If this is taking responsibility for something that is this important, he is just the right person to become President, he is not.  This has become a common thread with all of the Democrats running the President.

“The only effective way to apply this pressure is to begin a phased withdrawal of U.S. forces, with the goal of removing all combat brigades from Iraq by March 31, 2008 -- a date consistent with the goal set by the bipartisan Iraq Study Group. This redeployment could be temporarily suspended if the Iraqi government meets the security, political, and economic benchmarks to which it has committed. But we must recognize that, in the end, only Iraqi leaders can bring real peace and stability to their country.

The Iraq Study Group was not far off on their assessment, however the March date is for political purposes only and not reasonable or sane.  You can’t change direction and leave a country with a date in mind.  It’s like saying to an opposing Football team if we can’t be far enough ahead in 20 minutes we will give up the ball.

Now his next statement, you can tell is an after thought. Because every Democrat wants the whole world involved to make decisions for the Iraqis, but in the statement before he said “But we must recognize that, in the end, only Iraqi leaders can bring real peace and stability to their country”.

“At the same time, we must launch a comprehensive regional and international diplomatic initiative, to help broker and end to the civil war in Iraq, prevent its spread, and limit the suffering of the Iraqi people. To gain credibility in this effort, we must make clear that we seek no permanent bases in Iraq.

Also in a previous statement he said, “The only effective way to apply this pressure is to begin a phased withdrawal of U.S. forces, with the goal of removing all combat brigades from Iraq by March 31, 2008 -- a date consistent with the goal set by the bipartisan Iraq Study Group”.  Now he states: “We should leave behind only a minimal over-the-horizon military force in the region to protect American personnel and facilities, continue training Iraqi security forces, and root out al Qaeda”.

“The morass in Iraq has made it immeasurably harder to confront and work through the many other problems in the region -- and it has made many of those problems considerably more dangerous”.

“Changing the dynamic in Iraq will allow us to focus our attention and influence on resolving the festering conflict between the Israelis and the Palestinians”.

Senator Obama, the dynamic and the military direction has changed despite your patriotic party calling the General who changed the way the war is being prosecuted, a “betrayer” and Senator Reid declaring it lost before one new boot was on the ground.  Now Obama tells an outright lie, he says the Israeli/Palestinian conflict is “-- a task that the Bush administration neglected for years.  I guess he feels the trips that Secretary Rice has made, to broker peace, means nothing”.  What about all the meetings at the Whit House???

You can tell that Senator Obama has no knowledge of the meaning of foreign policy.  These are all words that have been said as well as been done and must be out of some Democrat hand book. I have read the rest of this essay and it is just as bad so.  Too tell the truth it sounds like he copied Edward’s paper. I am not going to “water board” myself any longer. Now we have to contend with the “O” factor.  “O” and “Buts” a good title for article in the “O” Magazine.

S.C. Tax Payers Funding PORK Brokers

To the Editor:  Myrtle Beach The Sun News

The following opinion letter was E-Mailed to the The Sun News on November 18, 2007 and as of today it has not been published which has not happen to me in a long time.  I believe the reason is because there was a major article published, starting on the first page, on Sunday November 25, 2007 relaying how South Carolina has spent $2.3 Million to Lobbyists serving as PORK Brokers to get Earmarks placed in various Bills.  Earmarks, in my opinion, are nothing more than bribes for votes to pass a bill.  This is a legal process which is allowed by the rules of the Congress. They are however not transparent to the voters unless Congressional officials think they can get votes out of their districts in the next elections. In this case the Congressional officials involved in the following one put out Press Releases because they felt so good about serving the PORK to us, the voters.

My opinion letter was the following:

I find it truly amazing our Congressional officials think the 2006 election was all about the war in Iraq.  In fact the exit polls showed the war in Iraq was forth on their priority list.

Republicans lost the seats in the Congress due to corruption and over spending which was concern number one in the exit polls.

Nothing was learned as a result of these exit polls.  The Democrats are still trying to pull the troops out of Iraq and the Republicans are still voting for bills they have loaded up with “Pork or Earmarks”.  An example of this was the, “Pork laden”, Water Resource Development Act where all but two of the Representatives and One Senator from South Carolina voted for the bill. Representatives, Henry Brown, Clyburn, Sprat and Senator Graham contributed $75million worth of Pork to that Barrel. This money was earmarked for local city projects, and should not be paid for by people in other states.

Wonder why the Congressional ratings are at an all time low?

EARMARK REFORM

                                             EARMARK  REFORM

Senator Jim DeMint is trying to change the secret “Earmark” society paradigm in Washington and taking a lot of heat in doing so. The new Ethics Bill was supposed to make “Earmarks” identifiable to the requester, the spending project, and the amount.

According to Congresspedia, "Earmarking" is the term used to refer to a provision in legislation that directs funds to be spent on specific projects. Typically, legislators seek to insert earmarks which direct a specified amount of money to a particular organization or project in his/her home state or district. This differs from the appropriation of money to a particular government agency, for in these cases the appropriate executive department can exercise discretion as to where and how the funds are spent. The use of earmarks in

the U.S. Congress has expanded significantly over the past thirty years, and is presently the focus of much controversy.

Again According to Congresspedia, The idea of directing federal money to specific local projects originally came from Rep. John Calhoun (D-S.C.) when he proposed the Bonus Bill of 1817 to construct highways linking the East and South of the United States to its Western frontier. At the time, these projects were referred to as "internal improvements." Calhoun wanted to use the earnings bonus from the Second Bank of the United States specifically for this program, arguing that the General Welfare and Post Roads clauses of the US Constitution called for it. President James Monroe vetoed the bill as unconstitutional. He explained his reasoning in the following message:

Such a view of the Constitution would have the effect of giving to Congress a general power of legislation instead of the defined and limited one hitherto understood to belong to them, the terms 'common defense and general welfare' embracing every object and act within the purview of a legislative trust.

The Earmark process today is, at least on paper, earmarks are intended to go through a public process. Lawmakers recognize needs which exist in their respective states or districts, and submit a written request to the appropriate congressional subcommittee asking for the panel’s support. In reality, however, earmarks are often not judged on their merit. Rather, earmarks are typically handed out as favors in exchange for votes on key pieces of legislation by party leaders and appropriations chairmen.

This is where I feel we need a total reform when considering these Earmarks.  Logically the States should have access to federal money after all they are the ones giving up a portion of their tax dollars to the Federal Government.  Most of these Earmarks are not even generated by requirements from the districts or States but rather from the Congressional Elected officials perceived needs usually based on the money they would receive from private individuals or special interest groups, some with the offer of more jobs, too enhance their reelection coffers, if they get the money to do their projects.

The attempt by Rep. John Calhoun (D-S.C.) to get the Bonus Bill passed in 1817 was in fact a good start.  However, Calhoun’s bill should not have been used for building an “Interstate Highway System” it should have been part of a federal “Transportation Appropriations Bill” instead.

We must come up with a way of using the Federal Budget to allocate money for use by the States so that they are made accountable to the voters and not stuck into Bills with no visibility and no accountability as they are today.  I believe requirements for use of funds should be submitted, yearly, by the Governor of each State, after the State Legislator approvable, to a “Congressional Committee” with oversight. This would put the State Government in charge and keep the lobbyists and other special interest groups from setting the States priorities. The Federal budget should have set up 50 accounts, or one for each State.  Requests for each project must be defined and the State elected Federal Congressional person responsible must be named. The requests should then be submitted to the President prior to the start of the budgeting process.  The President should do his magic in order to keep spending within his limits and place the appropriation in the State’s account within the budget similar to the appropriation of money to a particular government agency.

When the Budget is submitted to Congress the appropriation should be validated as part of the normal budget process.  This would not only provide transparency for the voters as well the President but it would eliminate “Earmarks” from the Bill construction and conference phases all together along with the need for a line item veto since the appropriation was approved prior to the budget process.

Compare this to the process today, again as per Congresspedia:

On paper, earmarks are intended to go through a public process.

In addition, earmarks are rarely considered by the entire U.S. House of Representatives or U.S. Senate during the construction of a bill. Rather, they are often added during the conference phase, which is when House and Senate leaders meet to iron-out the differences in their respective pieces of legislation on a particular issue. Following the conference, both houses must approve the legislation again, but if a member wishes to oppose a particular earmark, he/she must vote against the entire bill in order to do so. Given that most earmarks are inserted into massive pieces of legislation which fund the federal government, members of Congress are often reluctant to oppose them simply over an earmark. In addition, through the process of logrolling, members often agree to support a bill with another’s earmark in exchange for the same treatment. The result is bills with hundreds, if not thousands, of specifically-directed funding projects. Thomas A. Schatz, president of Citizens Against Government Waste, said that 98 percent of earmarks to appropriations bills in 2005 were added in the conference phase.

When passed legislation reaches the president’s desk, a similar problem arises. Not wishing to stall the budgetary process or risk a public relations backlash for rejecting a bill for transportation or defense appropriations, presidents are often forced to sign bills loaded with earmarks.

Evidently, keeping the taxpayers in the dark about who, what, and how much, is the right thing to do. The overwhelming margins of approval in both the Senate (83-14) and House (411-8) proved that to be true.  The Senate voted not to debate the ‘Earmark” transparency statement, which DeMint along with 13 other Senators introduced, thereby keeping it out of the new Ethics Bill. These Senators put up a good fight standing up for our rights but things got real heated and they were publicly reprimanded by Senators Lott and Reid.

A measure of how entrenched this activity is in the fabric of the two parties is the directive issued by the non-partisan Congressional Research Service (CRS) on February 22nd 2007 that it "will no longer identify earmarks for individual programs, activities, entities, or individuals" which supplied the data for the Senators.

Since all of South Carolina House Representatives voted to pass this bill without the Transparency statement I am wondering what they have to hide.

Only the voters can help change this paradigm by voting out the elected officials who have been in office too long.

Senator Jim De Mint (R-S.C.) is now in the process of getting 100,000 signatures, nation wide, on a petition supporting Earmark reform. He needs you to join 100,000 Strong for Earmark Reform today by visiting www.jimdemint.com.

SCHIP and Genocide

A letter to The Speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi

Nancy Pelosi, Speaker of the House, you are a conniver, fortunately or unfortunately for the rest of America you have no idea what you are doing. You not only want to have babies on the nipple until age 25 (SCHIP extension) and have others pay or share the cost for them doing it, but you also want a resolution passed in the house spanking the Country of Turkey for committing Genocide during WWI time frame on the Armenians. This was during the Ottoman Empire for, God sake, which today’s Turkey had nothing to do with. In this case not knowing what you are doing, may put our Armed Forces in the Middle East at tremendous risk.  You have tried many times to withhold funding from our Troops and when that didn’t work you tried to cut funding for armament and supplies.

Ms. Speaker you have become the most destabilizing person our Congress has ever seen and our Country is going to suffer from your actions.  This stupid resolution involving Turkey, an Ally in the war on terror, was a conniving calculation on your part not only to gain a few votes from the Armenian lobby but, again to put our troops in the field in jeopardy and our President in a untenable position just so your dream of a lost in Iraq will help maintain your majority position and get a Democrat President elected. I don’t care how you spin this, it is sick and a complete waste of time.

Ms. Speaker I can only hope that the American people will wake up and understand what is happening in the world and if we lose this war on terror of which Iraq is the center, and how much your actions and are putting us at risk, before they pull the lever in the voting booth.

You should resign your position as Speaker, at least that would be the decent thing, or better yet get out of the House altogether before you do something that is passed and really does some harm.

                                                                        For Your Consideration,
