The Powell Initiative

The Powell Initiative

Sorry I could not let this pass

I was wondering why Colin Powell did not endorse Obama sooner rather than now.

Well in my opinion he did it for two reasons, both have a common denominator which can only be “Race”.

Colin Powell was a man who got where he was because, by his own admission, of Affirmative Action. He is now against the “Bail-Out” which would help Blacks stay in their homes that they couldn’t afford in the first place.

He was promoted by at least three Presidents over offerings that were way more qualified than him and under extreme pressure for the Black community finally backed the first Black Candidate for President. He now says if Race was the reason he would have done it sooner. He said that McCain’s selection of V.P and Joe the Plummer were the mitigating factors.

We all know that Sarah Palin has a lot more experience than either Obama or Biden in all of the governmental issues this country is facing and certainly has the ability getting things done as far as cleaning out corruption in what ever party it raises its ugly head.

Joe the Plummer hit the nail right on the head and he, Powell, saw the campaign for the first Black President going down the sewer.

Colin Powell is the man that sat in front of his Nation and the United Nations and making the case to invade Iraq. This is the man who was head of the Joint Chiefs during the first Iraq war, in defense of Kawate, knowing that they weren’t going to cut off the snake’s head which he said they should have done in Viet Nam.

After the decision was made to go to war with Iraq, John McCain was one of the only members of congress who pressed for a bigger invasion force, than was planned which Powell also agreed with but didn’t happen. He even said “if we break it we have to fix it”.

Colin Powell had no bigger supporter than McCain so if he was against the Iraq War why didn’t he resign in a “show” that would have most likely made the powers to be take notice. I know if McCain was in that position at that time he would have put country first, and resigned and told the Country why.

You would have to be a blooming idiot to believe that Sarah and Joe were the main reasons for the endorsement at this time.

Now all of a sudden Powell feels that Obama is getting hit with unfounded racist and religious remarks and he recites a story of an American Soldier, who just happens to be a Muslim by birth. Buy virtue of the story, the Father of the solder would not tell his son he was going to fight against his own religion. Ok, if son did not know he was going to fight Muslims it should be oblivious to everybody that the soldier, or for that matter the Father were not a practicing Muslims. Maybe the Soldier was just an American and was putting his Country first.

Is Colin Powell putting his “Country” first or is he putting his ”Race” first? Powell is seeing the race for President getting tighter and the Black candidate could lose this thing. That’s the reason he jumped in, thinking he would make the difference. It may well do just that because now the Black Community may look at him as “Black” and not the Uncle Tom, he was called by them, when he was the Secretary of State under the “White Bush”.

This is truly the real “Amazing Race”.

After looking at the short film on U-Tube you will understand why people are a little jumpy.
